/Applying Acceptable Biological Catch (ABC) Control Rules in a Changing Environment

The 8th national meeting of the Scientific Coordination Subcommittee (SCS8) will be hosted by the New England Fishery Management Council on August 26-28, 2024, at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts.
The theme of the workshop is “Applying Acceptable Biological Catch (ABC) Control Rules in a Changing Environment.” Participants will explore strategies for how to adapt ABC control rules given the highly variable and changing dynamics of climate, recruitment, and productivity. The workshop agenda is organized around three sub-themes:
Advances in ecosystem science and assessment to inform ABC control rules in a dynamic environment
Application of social science to achieve management goals under dynamic conditions
Adaptation of reference points, control rules, and rebuilding plans to changing environment
